This version of the low camp chair with the addition of spring arms. It probably dates from 1931. The " chair sandow" in all its versions became almost a symbol of Herbst. This successful marriage of tubular steel and elastic bands reflected his declared philosophy that materials should be adapted to function and not the other way around.

Armchair with frame in chrome-plated or painted tubular steel. Seat, back and arms in rubber spring cords, with a black cotton covering.
