This version of the low camp chair with the addition of spring arms. It probably dates from 1931. The " chair sandow" in all its versions became almost a symbol of Herbst. This successful marriage of tubular steel and elastic bands reflected his declared philosophy that materials should be adapted to function and not the other way around.
